I have been fortunate to have seen some of the most beautiful places in the world but when I walked into the lobby entrance of the Grand Hyatt Taipei, my jaw dropped. What a vision!
A stunning, fragrant centerpiece of fresh flowers greets guests and a fountain feature soothes the senses as you take in the opulent surroundings including glittering, sparkling chandeliers and the smiling faces of the employees, ready to help you settle into the hotel. After hours of travel, my husband and I were eager to soak up the peace and sanctuary that the Grand Hyatt Taipei, Taiwan offered.
The multi-lingual clerks at the check- in area were ready to assist upon arrival. I appreciated the escort who showed us to our room; it is touches like this that which makes a regular experience into a five-star experience!
Our Grand Suite King was 645 square ft of magnificence. This standard suite came with a king sized bed, marble bathroom (bonus points for a bathtub!), a living room with an oversized couch, plus a desk, coffee/tea and a mini-fridge.
There is 24-hour room service plus complimentary WiFi and suite guests enjoy access to the Grand Club Lounge which includes daily breakfast and evening cocktails.
Two bathrooms are ideal for practicality. There was one near the suite entrance and a larger one off the master bedroom area. The living room and bedroom both offered large flat screen TVs and huge windows. When traveling with someone else, it’s a nice option to have separate spaces for watching TV or resting. After a long day of sightseeing, I appreciate quiet and a nap. I liked that I could close the door and not interrupt my husband who enjoys watching TV.
I requested a room that offered views of the city and was happy to stay on the 18th floor. Watching the sun set over the cityscape while enjoying a glass of champagne never gets old. A beautiful room with a view and a glass of champagne in a gorgeous city, what could be better?
Here are some 5StarTips🌟 when staying at this luxury hotel that will be helpful to know:
🌟 Transportation from the airport:
I arranged for private transportation from the Grand Hyatt Taipei to and from the TPE airport through the concierge before our trip. It was $180 USD round trip. I found the convenience of having a driver, clean spacious car, and Wifi a huge plus.
You may find less expensive options, but I strongly suggest a private car. The drive is about 45 minutes to the hotel depending on traffic.
Our driver found us right away inside the airport, helped us with our luggage and escorted us to the nearby car. Our airport to hotel transition was seamless.
🌟 Best Views:
This is a huge hotel with lots of rooms. If you want to enjoy a view of the Taipei 101 building, you need to reserve ahead of time and be willing to pay extra.
🌟 Location, location, location:
In my opinion, The Grand Hyatt Taipei is ideally situated in the best part of Taipei. The hotel has easy access to the Taipei 101 Building which couldn’t be more convenient. There is a walkway and small bridge near the front entrance of the hotel that leads to the Taipei 101 Building. It is not only for seeing the best views of the city but wonderful for upscale shopping and restaurants as well.
Two subway lines are located nearby and the convention center is an easy walk from the hotel.
🌟 Restaurants:
The hotel has several restaurants with a variety of cuisines including one recommended by the highly esteemed Michelin Guide. I enjoyed the Cheers restaurant for lunch and for those who enjoy wine, you will like the extensive list of options.
Another dining option in the hotel is the Regency Lounge on the 22nd floor. I was upgraded thanks to my status with the “World of Hyatt” program to this exclusive lounge. Anyone can access the lounge for an extra price, this upgrade to your stay is worth the expense.
🌟 Spa and Workout Area:
A true vacation experience is not complete without a trip to the spa, pool, and workout area. You must visit at least once during your stay.
The spa encourages you to forget all of your worries as you relax both mind and body in pure serenity. Book your reservation as soon as you arrive at the hotel. Appointments fill up quickly. Services include facials, massages, mud wraps and more.
The workout area is clean and modern with high end equipment plus exercise classes such as Yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi, Spinning, Body Sculpt, to name a few.
