A considerable part of my luxury travel is relaxing in a business lounge before my flight. This helps me get in a travel mood, check my emails, and take a breath before boarding the plane. Through my credit cards, I have been able to boost my airline status and can access to several lounges in airports around the world. When I traveled to Taiwan, I flew business class on American Airlines* who is affiliated with One World Alliance. This means I could choose any of the One World Airline Partnership lounges. Since I have a Priority Pass membership as well, I had access to a couple of options at the TPE Taipei Airport. I decided to visit the JAL (Japan Airlines) Taoyuan Airport Lounge located near gate D6.

As you pass through immigration, the lounge is located on the left near gates D1-D10. It is clearly marked and can be easily found and accessed.
You can qualify to enter the lounge with any of the below:
🌟 Elite status with one of the One World Alliance airlines
🌟 Business Class or First-Class ticket with Japan Airlines
🌟 Special Invite by Japan Airlines for their elite members

I qualified with my business class ticket as well as the “Emerald” One World Alliance status through my American Airlines AAdvantage membership.
The check-in was friendly and fast. The hallway entering the lounge is nicely decorated, welcoming you into the area with light music.
The lounge itself is spacious and very calming with plenty of seating. I appreciate the opportunity to have a little time to myself and not worry about crowds or trying to find a place to sit while I wait for my flight.
I arrived around 10 a.m. in the morning and found the lounge to be nearly empty. I had plenty of seats to choose from, and I was able to spread out and get comfortable.
There are many charging stations where you can plug in your electronics, check the internet, read your email, watch videos. I particularly like this as it gives me a chance to catch up on work.
The restrooms in the club and are clean and well maintained. Because I was there relatively early, I had it all to myself.
An extra advantage of this lounge is the two massage chairs as you enter the lounge. A chance to really relax!
Though it was breakfast time, the lounge offered Asian cuisine lunch options (see below pics). The food was fresh and tasty. If you wanted breakfast foods, you might be disappointed as they did not offer this, at least not when I was there.
What I always appreciate is a glass of champagne! Even at 10 a.m. in the morning, it was nice to have some champagne before boarding the plane. One must be relaxed and ready for turbulence…right?
Final Thoughts:
This beautifully appointed, airy, quiet lounge was the ideal way to remain calm before a long flight home. If you have a choice between several lounges, this is the one I would choose. The JAL Taoyuan Airport Lounge offers a bit more than other lounges and provides the Always5Star luxury experience I enjoy recommending! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
