One of the most exciting places to stay in Rovaniemi, Finland is at Santa’s Igloos Arctic Circle. Why? For one, each room has a glass roof that offers spectacular views! There are many other reasons as well so read on for my 5StarTips🌟 on why a stay here will enhance your experience in Rovaniemi, Finland to an Always5Star level.
Accommodations
Santa’s Igloos Arctic Circle has 71 rooms (igloos) and all are designed with a glass window roof to provide stunning views of Finland’s nature.
While you are staying in your room, you can relax on your bed and gaze up at the sky at any time of the year. The glass igloo has a heated dome so that even when the snow falls, the roof is clear for exceptional views.
The glass roof gives a whole new and exciting opportunity to witness the ever-changing nature of Lapland while enjoying the comforts and convenience of a hotel room.
There are three glass igloo’s rooms to choose from:
- Premium Igloos
- Premium Igloos with Sauna
- Premium Igloos with Alcove – A Premium igloo with alcove can be connected with a Premium igloo with a sauna through a connecting door.
Igloos with Sauna and Igloos with Alcove can be connected to combine two igloos for a larger family or group of friends.
All rooms offer the following:
- Heated glass ceilings – with window privacy curtains
- Air-conditioning and floor heating
- Free Wi-Fi
- Bathroom with shower
- Tablet with an Aurora Alarm to alert you to the Northern Lights!
- The tablet also has the ability to request services such as ordering food and beverages from room service.

5StarTip🌟: Upgrading to the sauna room would be wonderful during the winter months to enjoy after a day of outdoor activities! A nice plus to the room!

Restaurant:
Arctic Eye is the hotel’s restaurant. It is located in the main building where you check-in.
The restaurant offers unique tastes of Lapland with an international flair. The restaurant designs offer large reclined glass windows facing north. The plus is that if Northern lights are spotted while you are dining, they will sound an alarm so that you can grab your camera to capture the moment!
There is also a lobby bar to grab a drink in the evening to enjoy in one of the comfy lobby chairs or by the fire outside.
The restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner. Breakfast is a plentiful buffet and is offered complimentary with your room purchase.
Dinner is a la carte menu:
The menu offers gluten-free options as well!
5StarTip🌟: Check with the front desk for the hours and menu options as they change seasonally.
Activities
The front desk can help offer ideas and set up activities for you during your stay. Several tours and activities can be easily accessed by walking to Santa’s Village. However, we took a tour that was arranged for us by the hotel and the van picked us up at the lobby and brought us back as well. Final Thoughts:
This was a fabulous stay and one that I can highly recommend. I was impressed not only with the room design but also the staff was friendly and very helpful. When traveling to Rovaniemi, a stay at the Santa’s Igloos Arctic Circle will certainly enhance your dream trip to Finland. I know it did for me! Cheers my friends and wishing you this opportunity to stare up into the sky from your fabulous igloo and witness the beauty of nature unfold before your eyes!
5StarTip🌟:
Brittany and I were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights when we were in another part of Finland on this trip. However, we didn’t see them when we were staying at Santa’s Igloos Arctic Circle. It should be noted that even though we were not fortunate enough to see them there (as seen in the images above), the views of the sky were still rewarding and breathtaking! Borealis sightings are indeed weather-dependent and can not be guaranteed.
5StarTip🌟: I have a special code for you to receive a fantastic discount when staying at any of the Santa’s Hotels locations – To book your stay, use promo code SANTAS15 on your reservation for 15% off your stay!
