I am always on the look out for things to do with my kids that are different than the usual indoor playground or pool activity. When I heard about the Redondo Beach Ballet’s performance of Snow Queen, I knew that could be a fun activity for my daughter and I!
The ballet was held at the beautiful Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center. I was surprised at by how large the auditorium was! I also appreciated that they sold concessions during intermission. I am a sucker for food!
🌟 Redondo Beach Ballet
We were fortunate enough to watch the Redondo Beach Ballet perform Snow Queen! It is about two friends who are separated by the Snow Queen. You follow along as one friend searches for their friend through the Northern Lights, the Middle East, underwater and so much more.
I was so impressed with the production value of the ballet! The costumes were absolutely beautiful and helped show off the beautiful movement of the ballerinas! The sets helped you visualize the scene and really get into the story. Each ballerina was animated and in character! You could feel their passion for what they do even as a young cast! The ballet was about an hour and a half long but it went by quickly because you became invested in the story and you couldn’t help but be mesmerized by the talent of the Redondo Beach Ballet!
5StarTip🌟 – After The Performance – Catch A Sunset At The Pier
The Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center is about 5-10 minutes from the Manhattan Beach Pier. Once you have enjoyed the Redondo Beach Ballet, head down to the pier to watch the sun set! My daughter and I had a great time walking the pier and watching the waves crash on the columns holding up pier. It was freezing that day and so windy so we had some extra laughs trying to walk against the wind! However, the sunset was absolutely worth it! It was the second beautiful show we were treated to that day!
5StarTip🌟 – Enjoy Some Ice Cream!
You have just enjoyed watching a beautiful ballet put on by the Redondo Beach Ballet, you admired the sunset so now what do you do? Get ice cream of course! Brooklyn and I walked up from the pier to the Manhattan Beach Creamery!
The Manhattan Beach Creamery hand makes all their ice cream and likes to rotate flavors out to bring in exciting new flavors! Not only do they have ice cream but they also have sorbet, yogurt, frozen bananas, baked goods and so much more! There is definitely something for everyone! I loved how they decorated the inside and the thrones they had on the outside for you to enjoy your sweet treat in! It was definitely the perfect ending to our mother daughter day!
🌟 Final Thoughts
Finding fun activities to do with your kids does not have to be challenging! The Redondo Beach Ballet was entertaining to watch plus introduced Brooklyn to ballet which will hopefully begin a lifetime appreciation for the performing arts. I also loved that we were supporting a local ballet company! I challenge you to think outside the box and see what fun, unique activities you can do with your child. And please, if you are in the Redondo Beach, California area, look up and see if the Redondo Beach Ballet has a performance coming up! You will not be disappointed! Of course, don’t forget those little extra’s that make the experience Always5Star -such as witnessing a sunset and end it with ice cream!
