I was attending a concert at the hotel and decided, for convenience, to stay here. I usually do not like staying at Casino hotels. I am usually concerned about the smoke and just overall cleanliness and upkeep of the hotels, even when they rate four stars. However, Harrah’s was a pleasant surprise. The room was quite nice and, though there was smoke in the Casino, the filtration system in the room worked well.

Location:

Harrah’s is ideally located right in the heart of downtown Lake Tahoe. Walking distance to other casino’s and restaurants. Also a short walk to the Heavenly gondola ride.

Rooms:

The rooms (especially the Deluxe King) are oversized and spacious. The décor reflects the Lake Tahoe area with warm winter colors. Our room was uniquely designed as it had two bathrooms (his and hers) which was kinda cool.

Bathroom:

Both bathrooms were average sized and had a small counter space around the sink. The showers had good pressure. One bathroom had a bathtub/shower combo, the other was a shower.

Linens:

The linens were nice, although not plush.

Staff:

The check-in staff member was polite and efficient. We were pleased with an early check-in. The Concierge service desk was very helpful and offered a wonderful restaurant recommendation for lunch, which we thoroughly enjoyed.

Views: The hotel has several views from the large windows. My personal preference would be to ask for the mountain views as they can be lovely on a clear day!

Final Thoughts: I would recommend Harrah’s for a stay in downtown Lake Tahoe. The hotel lives up to the four-star rating and I found the rooms to be quite comfortable. I would recommend a stay here when in the area.
