With the struggles that we all face right now globally, it is more important than ever to create moments of self-care. Scheduling a soothing spa-like experience in our own home is simple, inexpensive, and it’s going to be a significant investment in you! I have created a facial mask recipe that you can easily make with the ingredients in your kitchen. Not only is this healthy for your skin and easy on the budget, more importantly, the investment in you is also essential right now!
5StarTip🌟:
After making your home-made mask, before applying the mask, follow these five simple steps to make this moment even more special and emulate a spa-like comfort in your own home! Stay home – stay safe!
#1
Clear 2 hours in your day and create a quiet place somewhere in your home. Clothes the curtains or do whatever you can to dim the light in the room/space you have found to create a more relaxing atmosphere.
#2
Put on your favorite comfy robe, slippers, and light a scented candle.
#3
Download a free spa or nature sounds app onto your cell phone. These are easy to find and several are free. If you cannot find an app for your phone, search on YouTube as there are several free spa meditation videos you can listen to as well. Find your earphones so that you can drown out other noises in your home. Below is a link to one that I have enjoy:
#4
Make yourself your favorite tea or if you do not like tea, make flavored water (add a little lemon, lime, strawberry, mint, etc). Also, if you are wanting to really relax…go ahead and pour yourself a glass of wine! Why not…you deserve this!
#5
Now mix up your facial mask in a bowl and apply to your face (see below recipe) and sit in a comfortable chair, put your feet up and relax! Breathe in five deep breaths and let your mind drift with the sound of the music! Enjoy!
Always5Star Facial Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 1/3 cup of oatmeal
- 1 egg white
- 1 splash of lemon
- 1 teaspoon of honey
- 1 teaspoon of non-flavored yogurt
Facial Mask Benefits:
There are many benefits to creating an oatmeal facial mask. Oatmeal contains antioxidants and anti-inflammatory agents that soothe the skin from the environment’s irritants and inflammation. Oatmeal is also suitable for acne because it removes oils from the surface of the skin. This makes oatmeal the perfect ingredient for a face mask.
5StarTip🌟:
Please be sure to do a patch test before applying it to your face! A patch test is done to assess if a certain material induces allergic irritation on your skin. Try a small area on the back of your neck for your test.
Final Thoughts
The recipe is simple and if you do not have all the ingredients you can alter leaving out any ingredient or just use the oatmeal and water. The most important part of this is the time investment in you! Please take time this week and create an Always5Star moment for you in your home! You deserve it! Cheers to you my friends – sending you all love and care!
