Always5Star Travel Tips for a Getaway to a Luxury Castle – Chateau Petrovice – Zámeček Petrovice, Czech Republic!

A Getaway To A Luxury Castle Chateau Petrovice Zámeček Petrovice, Czech Republic!

Ostrava is a marvelous town in the Czech Republic. It’s the third-largest city in the Czech Republic after Prague and Brno and dates back to the 13th century. The city is well known for its mining history with its rich coal deposits.

The Chateau Petrovice is near the beautiful town of Ostrava, Czech Republic

Located nine miles from Poland, Ostrava is a place where four rivers meet (the Odra, Opava, Ostravice, and Lučina) and there you will find views of the beautiful Beskydy Mountains.

About a 55-60 minute drive from Leoš Janáček Airport Ostrava (OSR)

If you are familiar with European geography, imagine Germany to the northwest of Ostrava and Poland to the northeast. Going southeast, you will find Slovakia, with Austria to the southwest. You can see why this is such an excellent destination to visit!

Ideally situated to other fabulous European cities!

If you are thinking of a trip to Ostrava, how would you like to stay in a castle? What about a castle that offers a spa, beautiful grounds, and excellent food? If you want to feel like royalty during a trip to the Czech Republic, I have a stunning place to recommend that it is Always5Star luxury. Being located in the Moravian-Silesian region, it is just a 50-minute drive from the Leoš Janáček Airport Ostrava (OSR).

The castle – Chateau Petrovice

As our private van drove up to the Chateau Petrovice – Zámeček Petrovic Castle Hotel, I was awestruck by the beautiful green landscape, including tall trees lining the drive up to the castle. I experienced a feeling of being transported back in time. Though Jane Austen’s books did not include the Czech Republic, if they had, I could see Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice come out of the castle and greet me with a glass of champagne!

The drive is lined with beautiful landscaping.

Stepping from the van, I was comforted by a feeling of peace and wellbeing. For a least one afternoon, I was able to shed the stress of everyday life. By the time I left the Chateau Petrovice, I had already formulated a plan for a return stay for a week (at least)!

The Chateau Petrovice grounds are incredible!

My husband John and I, along with Jane and Duncan Dempster-Smith of the travel blog ToTravelToo (see their great article: A DAY OUT AT CHATEAU PETROVICE IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC) were invited to enjoy the spa facilities for a day as part of the TBEX Ostrava Conference.

History:

Though it is named Chateau Petrovice, it is considered a castle and was built in 1796; its history includes ownership by a few different Counts, and it was used for military purposes during World War II.

History is on display throughout the Chateau grounds

You sense the rich history as you stroll through the entrance. The current owners have done a fantastic job of merging old with new. I particularly enjoyed elements of the castle’s history which blend seamlessly with the modern conveniences.

Accommodations:

The castle includes 34 well-appointed rooms, a wellness retreat and spa, and several dining options. These features are spread over the considerable acreage of the property.

There are eleven rooms in the main Chateau castle building. A path from the castle leads to another building that is called the Vila Larisch. Here you will find twenty-three standard rooms that are more contemporary and modern. The Vila Larisch rooms offer a little more privacy and are located near the spa and wellness center. You will also enjoy the same amenities as the rooms at the Chateau building.

5StarTips🌟:

Below you will find five essential tips that you will want to know when planning your stay at the Chateau Petrovice!

Outdoor BBQ – Pizza oven for special events.

🌟 Luxurious Always5Star Rooms

There are many rooms to choose from, but the Always5Star luxury recommended room is:

Dvoulůžkový DeLuxe.

When I last checked for a particular date, the rate was $120 USD. For this level of luxury, this price is an astounding value.

🌟 Luxury Picnic Lunch

To really enjoy the full Always5Star experience, order a picnic lunch from the restaurant. This is a great way to enjoy the lush, beautiful grounds while enjoying fabulous culinary offerings.

We had a fabulous rosé wine with our lunch, and it couldn’t have been a better experience from beginning to end.

A lovely local rosé

🌟 The Wellness Center/Spa

A stay at the castle would not be complete without enjoying the Wellness Center. This is a place that really soothes you with feelings of tranquility and peace.

The wellness retreat/spa is beautifully designed, and it deserves at least a week to stay here to fully enjoy all that it has to offer.

The entrance to the spa and wellness center.

The standout treatment at the Wellness Center is a unique experience called “The Seventh Heaven”. The Seventh Heaven treatment is an incredibly unusual sensory and audiovisual experience.

Guests sit in a specially designed bed that hangs from the ceiling. As you slowly rock and hear calming sounds, you begin to feel as though you are drifting through space. In a short time, you achieve a restful sleep state.

This treatment, which I enjoyed thoroughly, was very effective for attaining a sense of total relaxation.

🌟 Art:

An impressive collection of art is on display throughout the property (indoors and outdoors).

Throughout the property, you will see elements of artistic expression. The respect paid to local artists is apparent. I appreciated strolling around the park-like grounds to absorb the many sculptures on display.

Several other rooms/areas that you will find art and unique interior design features that are not to be missed are:

  • Wine Cellar: The lobby has been updated to include an extraordinary wine cellar. It is accessed through a glass door in the lobby floor. You must request the opportunity to go down the glass stairs and explore the wines! Not only is the cellar beautifully designed and very distinctive, but you will also notice that there is a collection of prestigious champagnes…. Excellent for those Always5Star occasions.
Wonderful wine selections!
  • Meeting Rooms: The grounds are a fantastic setting for a business retreat. There are two halls with a capacity of fifty people each.
Meeting spaces with character
  • Bowling alley: Yes… I was surprised too! In one of the meeting rooms, there is a modern bowling alley. While our party toured the grounds, the bowling alley was being set up for a professional soccer team’s enjoyment. How fantastic is that?
How fun to end your meetings with a little bowling!

🌟 Location:

5StarTip🌟: Private transportation from Ostrava to the Chateau can be arranged when booking your stay.

Final Thoughts:

A vacation spent at Chateau Petrovice is an exceptional experience you will want to have again and again. It indeed is a hidden gem in the Czech Republic.

If you are visiting the Czech Republic, you don’t want to miss this beautiful destination. It’s very unique, combining modern luxury with history and is set on lush grounds with a wellness retreat that is worth the trip alone. This is an absolutely fantastic place to relax and unwind. I am very grateful for the opportunity to visit the Chateau!

Cheers to Chateau Petrovice for being an Always5Star winner! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
