Sangria is a drink that I associate with having family and friends over for some good fun! It is the perfect drink to serve for a group because it is so colorful and fruity, it pairs well with buffet or potluck dinners too.
Since I love my bubbly, I was excited to research and experiment to create the perfect recipe that combines what everyone loves about Sangria. Plus, why not add a little sparkle too to make it just that much better. I am eager to share this recipe with all of you! The best part is that it is super-duper Always5Star easy!
Olé to Sangria with Champagne!
Ingredients
• 2 Quart glass pitcher
• 1/2 bottle red wine (note: Decoy Cabernet Sauvignon was used for this recipe example)
• 1/2 bottle Chilled Champagne or Sparkling Wine (note: Piper Sonoma Sparkling Wine was used for this recipe)
• 1 medium green apple
• 8-10 medium size strawberries (destemmed)
• 1 medium orange
• 1/8 cup of sugar (agave can be substituted)
• 1/2 shot glass of St. Germain
🌟 Tip: Make sure to chill your champagne/sparkling wine before adding to the recipe!
Directions
🌟 Slice orange and cut apple into 1” squares (leave peel on for color) place into a pitcher. Add the sugar and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Add strawberries. Stir gently to keep strawberries intact.
🌟 Add the St. Germain and stir again.
🌟 Add the wine and stir again.
🌟 Place glass pitcher in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours until chilled and flavors well mixed.
🌟 Slowly pour the chilled champagne into the pitcher when you plan on serving. You do not want to pour before! You will want to maintain the bubbles so that each guest will enjoy the bubbles.
🌟 Garnish with a sprig, or strawberry on each glass for some pizazz.
Now dress up, send out a group text to your friends and family, put on some dancing music, and let’s get this party started!
¡Salud! to you, my friends!
