For many years, my husband and I have traveled to Washington DC for business during the week.   After working all week in Washington DC, we would extend our stay by booking a room at the Ritz-Carlton Tysons Corner in McLean, Virginia.  There are several reasons that we looked forward to our time and have chosen to stay here on the weekends for years.

When you arrive at the entrance to the hotel,  you will take an elevator up to the lobby level for check-in.  The lobby is not to be ignored. Elegant interior design and the hotel offers refreshments with themes in the afternoons for its guests.  Each afternoon it unique, and during our stay, it was champagne and the chef’s special peanut butter cookies. I always appreciate these unique touches that the hotel creates.

🌟 Rooms

For over ten years, we have made it a point to stay at least once a year at the Ritz-Carlton Tysons Corner.  We have enjoyed seeing the changes throughout the years. Especially the multi-million-dollar hotel redesign that is magnificent.  We loved the newly designed transformation to the guest rooms and the French influence throughout the hotel. The rooms have all been updated to include the newest technology.  The hotel exudes the ambiance that we all love about the Ritz-Carlton hotels.

There are several rooms to choose from:

• Guest Room – 330 sq. Ft. (This is their standard room)
• Superior King – 450 sq. Ft. (Oversized room with a sitting area within the bedroom)
• Executive Suite – 783 sq. Ft. (Separate bedroom with large living room & additional half bathroom – See below for more information)
• The Ritz-Carlton Suite – 1309 sq. Ft. (2nd largest suite with 1.5 bathrooms & dining room for six guests)
• Presidential Suite – 1836 sq. Ft. (Largest suite with full kitchen, 1.5 baths, dining room, expansive living room with fireplace, large foyer – See below for more information)

🌟 Tyson Galleria Mall

The Ritz-Carlton has direct indoor access from the hotel to the Tysons Galleria mall.  This is a plus, especially on weather challenged days. I have stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Tysons Corner on many cold, rainy days, and the mall accessibility has been wonderful for just enjoying a day of shopping. This is not an ordinary mall. This is a high-end, upscale shopping experience with many nice culinary options to choose from.

🌟 Spa and Pool

There are only a handful of luxury hotels in and near Washington DC that offer a full-service spa within the hotel.  Ritz-Carlton Tysons Corner is one such hotel. The spa is cozy and intimate and is perfect for a day to exercise in the gym, relax by the indoor pool, and be pampered with an “Aaaahhhh” spa treatment moment. An ideal way to rejuvenate after a week of life and work challenges!

🌟 Afternoon Tea

I have come to love afternoon tea just about anywhere I go.  I find that the Ritz-Carlton hotels do an exceptional job of making this a lovely experience. This hotel is no exception. The cozy atmosphere of the ENTYSE, Wine Bar & Lounge, and ther roaring fireplace, invites you to relax and enjoy.  Make sure to add a glass of bubbly to enhance your relaxation. Sit back, sip tea and champagne, and partake in the fabulous bites offered. Why not? You deserve it!

🌟 Club Lounge Upgrade

I cannot emphasize how much I enjoy the Club Lounges at any Ritz-Carlton hotel that I have stayed in.  The Ritz-Carlton Tysons Corner, however, might be one of my favorites. The Chef’s amazing culinary delights and endless pours of champagne are offered three times a day. The Ritz-Carlton refers to their culinary offerings as “Presentations.”  

5StarTip🌟: The Service!

The most fantastic element of the Club Lounge upgrade is the dedication to service. Every concierge team member that I have encountered has not only been friendly, but they go above and beyond with attentiveness while remembering your name and tastes.

Though everyone has been impressive, there is one person who has been there for years. Her name is Shima Chenzaie. We look forward to seeing her every time we stay. Even if it has been over a year since our last visit, whenever we walk into the lounge she greets both of us with a warm hug. Please make a point to meet Shima and say Hi from Pam!

ENTYSE, Wine Bar & Lounge

This is an evening only restaurant that features small plates, jazz music and happy hours.  It is a warm and inviting area. This is where the afternoon tea is served as well.

ENTYSE Bistro

Entyse is a bistro-style restaurant where you will see a more modern, contemporary flair in the design.  While enjoying the whimsical interior design you can savor their American culinary fare. They also serve a Sunday Brunch buffet. Reservations are recommended at (703) 744-3999.
