5StarTip🌟: Stay Hydrated on Flights!

Flying on a plane is known to cause dehydration. Generally, indoor humidity ranges from 30 to 65 percent. The inside of a plane cabin’s is often much lower at 10 to 20 percent. These low humidity levels can cause mild discomfort such as dry skin and eye irritation for many people. It is recommended by the Aerospace Medical Association that you drink about 8 ounces of water each hour of your flight.

When planning for your trip, don’t forget to pack your empty water bottle!

Buying water bottles in the airport, after you have passed through security, can be quite costly. Though flight attendants will provide you with water, this can take quite a long time, and often you are only provided a small cup of water.

Sometimes you have to wait quite a bit before you are able to get a glass of water, especially if there are delays with departure or turbulence!

So, what are the best ways to accomplish this, especially as we cannot bring a water bottle with liquid through TSA security?

5StarTip🌟: Business and First class often will offer you a bottle of water – please check with your carrier to determine before flying!

I have found that no matter the class of service you are flying, bringing a water bottle when you board a plane is key to staying hydrated. I will bring a filled bottle (usually a 12 oz bottle). This way I can refill it again and again. Many airports have sanitized complimentary refill stations that are located after security.

5StarTip🌟: Check to see if the airport you are flying from has complimentary refill stations!

There are several water bottles on the market. What is important in making your purchase is that it can sit on its side in a bag without leaking. There are several collapsible ones for ease of packing as well. I choose to use and refill a simple water bottle that is purchased at any grocery store. Then when the beverage cart comes by, I will ask for a refill.

5StarTip🌟: Flight attendants always have water bottles on their carts, it is easy to ask for a refill and have more water to drink in your water bottle than the small glasses that they provide.

🌟Final Thoughts:

You don’t need to spend a lot of money for water bottles at the airport. Save your money for those Always5Star upgrades on hotels, flights, and of course champagne! Cheers to saving on the cost of water bottles and staying hydrated when you fly to those fabulous locations!!

5StarTip🌟: When enjoying champagne or any alcoholic beverage, be sure to drink more water as alcohol can be dehydrating as well!
