3. Enjoy TSA PreCheck
Add the Known Traveler Number to your online ticket reservation to enjoy TSA PreCheck! Passengers waited on an average of fewer than 10 minutes to get through security when using TSA PreCheck!
Online reservations information:
When purchasing your airline ticket, make sure to fill out the “Known Traveler” passenger information section with your Global Entry card number that is located on the back of your card:
Checking in and your airline ticket:
When checking in online for your tickets, make sure that your ticket has the TSA PreCheck symbol on the ticket. Just recently I was flying from Los Angeles and didn’t check my ticket until I got to the airport. I was able to solve the problem by checking in at the desk and asking them to update and correct my ticket. The computers do not always pick up that you have registered a PreCheck number (Known Traveler) online.
Also, when using your passport as ID it is good to know that it is registered with your Global Entry number.
Security line at the airport:
Look for signs and that says TSA PreCheck and this is the line for you. You will need a valid picture ID to show with your ticket to be able to utilize this line.
Note: You will not have to show your Global Entry card when going through the TSA security line, but for safety purposes, it is a good idea to keep it with you for verification.
Enjoy the following perks:
With TSA PreCheck you do not have to remove the following items:
- Shoes (that do not have metal in them)
- Laptops
- 311 liquids
- Belts
- Light jackets
Now that you have all this extra time on your hands…head on over to the lounge, order a glass of wine and relax and wait for your flight!
Cheers my friends to cutting corners on stress at the airport and enjoying the travel experience!!
