West End Bistro restaurant – A fantastic Ritz Carlton Washington D.C. Brunch

The West End Bistro restaurant for brunch is quite special. First the location: the restaurant is on the first floor of the Ritz Carlton Washington D.C., and within walking distance of the stylish Georgetown area of Washington D.C. The menu design matches the trendiness of the neighborhood. The interior is designed with an emphasis on modern contemporary, however, it still manages to emanate warmth and casual feeling. The cuisine is American with the focus being on fresh, quality produce from local farms.

I was able to sample several selections of the Brunch menu. I have always loved breakfast, and the Bistro delivered a special culinary experience. Enjoy a journey with the following pictures I took during my brunch…I promise you it will engage your appetite!

The golden malted waffle will please every waffle enthusiast!

To begin your brunch you will notice that the menu has a distinct array of cocktails, bloody mary’s, their own signature drinks, and of course my favorite, a good choice of “bubbles”!

A great start to the brunch is ordering from the libations menu – Note: the bottomless Mimosa option!

The options for brunch have some traditional items as well as some wonderful and unique selections that create an interesting twist to the classic brunch.Β

The Warm Cornbread Madelieines with blueberry and tarragon jam
Buttermilk biscuits with house made maple butter
“Greek Yogurt Bowl” with house-made granola, locally grown summer peaches, as well as local honey
Smoked Salmon Benedict with hollandaise sauce
Avocado Toast with heirloom tomatoes, spring radish, poached egg, crushed avocado
Middletown Valley New York Strip with pepper crusted Angus Steak, house fries, classic mayonnaise

The Executive Chef “Vin” Alvin Dela Cruz is a hands on Chef. Taking pride in his creations and culinary presentations, he is also a wonderful personality. It was exciting to hear about his morning routines of visiting local markets and bringing the freshest produce to his dishes.

The restaurant exudes a contemporary energy that is apparent in not only the decor but the design of the menu as well as the open kitchen concept.

Enjoyed sitting and watching the kitchen in action!
