Carmine’s Washington D.C. – A fabulous family-style Italian restaurant

Looking for a restaurant in Washington DC for a large group of either business, family, or friends?

Carmine’s a legendary family style Italian restaurant

Love authentic Italian dishes that are served family style?

One of Carmine’s signature entrée is Eggplant Parmigiana

Then…look no further than the wonderful Carmine’s Washington D.C.! I travel to Washington D.C. a few times a year, and I when I am dining with a large group, it is one of my favorites in the city. What makes this restaurant so special is that it is a well known restaurant (Carmine’s in New York City) that you know will serve you a family style Italian cuisine in a warm and genial setting.

My menu with my group was fantastic!

The restaurant is considerable and seats large groups easily (700 seats in 20,300 sq. ft w/nine private dining rooms).

Interior space is plentiful and there are many tables that are available for seating groups

Theirs is an exciting buzz and atmosphere that you feel as soon as you walk thru the door.

However, if you love authentic Italian food, and are dining alone, their is a great bar area that you can also sit at to enjoy a drink and/or a meal amidst the nostalgic ambience.

There are boards scattered throughout the restaurant that showcase the selections of the restaurant’s family style southern Italian preparations.

The bread basket delights with different selections.

Then of course, to start with a Caesar Salad is always a great beginning to your dining experience!

Don’t forget to order their wines as well. Our group started with the white Carmine’s “Trebbiano-D’Abruzzo”, which paired perfectly with the salad!

I highly recommend ordering the Penne all Vodka pasta entree. Add a little bit of the parmesan cheese provided at the table, and this dish is sure to please your palate!

However, my favorite dish was the Eggplant Parmigiana. You can see how this dish with an abundent amount of mozzarella cheese that highlights this earthy, substantial, zesty main dish. Yum!

Every meal must end with an epic dessert….right? And ours did! Executive Chef “Ford” Barsi made his way to our table with their signature dessert in hand.

The dessert is aptly named “The Titanic” – Thank you Chef Barsi!

I felt you needed a close up pic of this dessert, so that you could see that this is a chocolate lover’s (that is me) dream! As full as I was after this wonderful meal, I still needed to make room to enjoy this decadent and tremendous dessert!

“The Titanic” is epic!
